Plain-language draft for legal review
This disclosure describes the current approach to referral and affiliate links. It is not attorney-approved legal advice, a promise that a commission will always be paid, or a guarantee about any linked product or service.
What an affiliate link means
Hookwise may use a qualifying outbound link that lets a retailer, service provider, or referral program know that a visitor came from Hookwise. If you click that link and complete an eligible purchase or action, Ira Spicer may receive a commission or other referral benefit. The purchase price shown to you does not increase because of the Hookwise referral.
Recommendations remain editorial
A tracked link does not make a recommendation a paid endorsement of every feature or result. Hookwise aims to choose and describe links based on usefulness to anglers, clear explanations, and the needs of the page. A referral relationship does not guarantee that a product is right for your water, technique, budget, body, boat, or level of experience.
Prices, inventory, shipping, warranties, product specifications, return rules, and availability can change after a page is published. Check the provider's current information before you buy. The provider handles the transaction, delivery, customer service, and any return or warranty request.
Physical products and tracked links
Hookwise will add physical affiliate products only when a tracked link is available for the product or provider. If a link cannot accurately attribute a referral, we may leave it out rather than imply a relationship that cannot be verified. This page does not name a retailer or affiliate program that is not currently linked or approved for Hookwise use.
Referral tracking and privacy
A provider may use a referral code, cookie, or similar technology to attribute a visit or purchase. That tracking is controlled by the provider and its privacy practices after you follow the link. Review the provider's terms and the Cookie and Tracking Notice before continuing.
You never have to use a referral link
You can search for a product or service independently, compare options, or skip a recommendation entirely. Hookwise does not require a purchase, and a commission does not change your ability to use the free community or tools platform.
